Travellers in the UAE who are eligible for e-visas to Japan will now have the convenience of applying for them through VFS Global starting September 1. The visa application centres at Wafi Mall, Dubai, and The Mall, Abu Dhabi were recently inaugurated by VFS Global and the Japanese missions in the UAE. Appointments for short and long-term visas can be easily secured online at no additional charge. However, all applicants will be required to pay a Dh100 service fee in addition to the visa costs when visiting the centres.

The e-visa service to Japan was briefly suspended for some UAE residents in April, requiring applications to be submitted through the consulate. Now, the Japanese missions will not be accepting applications directly, as they have partnered with VFS Global to manage the increasing number of visa applications. Consul General of Japan to Dubai, Imanishi Jun, expressed the hope that the new visa application centres will provide faster and more convenient visa services, ultimately promoting people-to-people exchanges between Japan, the UAE, and Dubai.

VFS Global clarified that their responsibilities in the visa application process are limited to front-end administrative tasks, such as collecting application forms and necessary documentation according to the checklist. The company emphasized that they have no involvement in the decision-making process for granting or refusing visas, as this is solely the prerogative of the Embassy and Consulate. They play a crucial role in facilitating the administrative side of the application process to ensure a smooth and efficient experience for applicants.

For the latest updates and news on visa services and travel information, it is recommended to follow Khaleej Times on WhatsApp Channels. This will keep travellers informed about any changes in policies, procedures, and important announcements related to visa applications. With the launch of the new visa application centres in Dubai and Abu Dhabi, eligible travellers can look forward to a more streamlined process for obtaining their e-visas to Japan, enhancing their overall travel experience.

The partnership between VFS Global and the Japanese missions in the UAE signifies a commitment to improving visa services and responding to the growing demand for visa applications. By establishing dedicated visa application centres, both entities aim to provide a more efficient and convenient process for travellers seeking to visit Japan. This initiative not only benefits individual travellers but also contributes to fostering stronger ties between Japan, the UAE, and Dubai, further enhancing bilateral relations between the countries.

With the new visa application centres now operational in Dubai and Abu Dhabi, travellers from the UAE can easily access the necessary resources and support to apply for e-visas to Japan. By leveraging the expertise and efficiency of VFS Global in managing visa applications, applicants can expect a more seamless and user-friendly experience. The convenience of online appointments and the collection of essential documentation at the centres will streamline the application process, making it easier for travellers to plan their trips to Japan.
