England captain Ben Stokes is expected to make a comeback in the upcoming Test series against Pakistan after undergoing scans for his hamstring injury. The injury had forced him to miss the recent Test series against Sri Lanka. Ollie Pope filled in as the Test captain during the Sri Lanka series, which England won 2-1. However, Stokes is likely to resume his role as skipper against Pakistan after receiving positive scan results.

The England and Wales Cricket Board announced on Wednesday that the scan results were positive and confirmed that Stokes’ recovery remains on track since sustaining the injury six-and-a-half weeks ago. The Test series in Pakistan is set to kick off on October 7 in Multan. While Stokes is expected to lead the team, there are concerns about his ability to bowl in the early part of the tour, as he emphasized the need to work on multiple aspects to get back to bowling form.

Stokes suffered the hamstring injury while playing for Northern Superchargers in The Hundred on August 11, which ruled him out of the Sri Lanka series. The all-rounder’s absence was felt during the series, but with his potential return against Pakistan, England will be boosted both in leadership and on-field performance. Stokes’ experience and skills make him a crucial player in the team, and his presence in the upcoming series is eagerly anticipated by fans and teammates alike.

England’s preparations for the tour to Pakistan will now include integrating Stokes back into the team and assessing his fitness for the matches. With the series against Pakistan being a crucial one, having Stokes available as captain can provide the team with the much-needed stability and leadership. His positive mindset and determination to recover from the injury are evident, as he aims to contribute to the team’s success in the upcoming Test matches.

The scan results have given a green light for Stokes to start working on his comeback to competitive cricket, and the England camp will be looking forward to his return. The news of his potential availability for the Pakistan series will be a major boost for the team, as they gear up to take on a strong Pakistani side on their home turf. Stokes’ return will not only strengthen England’s batting and bowling line-up but also provide a boost to the team’s morale, given his influential presence on and off the field.

In conclusion, Ben Stokes’ anticipated return to the England team for the Test series against Pakistan is a positive development for English cricket. His leadership, all-round skills, and fighting spirit make him an invaluable asset to the team, and his presence will be instrumental in England’s quest for victory in Pakistan. With his recovery progressing well and scan results confirming his readiness to play, Stokes’ comeback is eagerly awaited by fans and cricket enthusiasts around the world. The upcoming series promises to be an exciting contest, with Stokes’ return adding an extra layer of intrigue and anticipation to the England squad’s campaign.
