India’s Arundhati Reddy shined with three wickets as Pakistan struggled to reach 105-8 in their Women’s T20 World Cup match in Dubai. Pakistan’s Nida Dar top-scored with 28 runs, but it was not enough to save her team. After winning the toss, Pakistan’s skipper Fatima Sana elected to bat first on a challenging pitch that offered awkward bounce to the bowlers.

Renuka Singh’s fine inswinger dismissed Gull Feroza in the first over, setting the tone for Pakistan’s struggles. Muneeba Ali managed to score 17 runs before being stumped by Richa Ghosh. Reddy was instrumental in taking three wickets, including the crucial wicket of Nida Dar in the final over. India lost their opening game to New Zealand, while Pakistan managed to beat Sri Lanka.

The match was a display of India’s strong bowling attack, with Reddy and Patil putting significant pressure on the Pakistani batters. The momentum shifted in India’s favor as they took early wickets and restricted Pakistan’s scoring opportunities. Pakistan’s decision to bat first did not work in their favor as they struggled to build partnerships and set a competitive total.

India’s fielding was equally impressive, with Ghosh taking a crucial catch to dismiss Pakistan’s skipper Fatima Sana. The team displayed great coordination and communication on the field, which contributed to their success in limiting Pakistan’s scoring opportunities. Reddy’s economical bowling was a standout performance, as she finished with figures of 3-19 from her four overs.

Overall, India’s dominant performance in the match showcased their strength in both bowling and fielding. The team’s ability to take early wickets and build pressure on the opposition was crucial in securing the victory. With this win, India will look to build on their momentum and continue their strong performance in the Women’s T20 World Cup. Their next matches will be crucial in determining their path in the tournament and their chances of progressing to the later stages.
