The Center for Empowerment and Care of the Elderly (Ehsan) in Doha, Qatar recently organized the Great Ones Forum for its members in conjunction with the Arab Day for the Elderly. The event was held under the patronage of Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs HE Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani. The forum was attended by various dignitaries including the Minister of Social Development and Family HE Mariam bint Ali bin Nasser Al Misnad and other senior officials in the state.

During the forum, a video was shown featuring members of the center sharing their stories on joining Ehsan’s clubs. They expressed their gratitude to the wise leadership of the State of Qatar and all those who have supported and cared for them. The event also included a segment where messages of appreciation and respect from the younger generation to the elderly were highlighted. Additionally, the cognitive and life experiences acquired by the new generation of adults were reviewed and discussed.

Ehsan is one of the centers under the Qatar Social Work Foundation, which operates under the Ministry of Social Development and Family in Qatar. The center focuses on empowering and caring for the elderly in the country, providing them with support and resources to enhance their quality of life. Through various programs, activities, and clubs, Ehsan aims to promote social inclusion and well-being among the elderly population in Qatar.

The Great Ones Forum served as a platform for members of Ehsan to come together and share their experiences, stories, and perspectives. It provided an opportunity for the elderly to express their appreciation for the support they have received and to showcase the impact that Ehsan has had on their lives. The event also emphasized the importance of intergenerational relationships and the value of respecting and honoring the elderly in society.

In addition to the video presentations and messages of appreciation, the forum featured discussions on the importance of recognizing and valuing the contributions of the elderly in society. It highlighted the wisdom, knowledge, and experiences that the elderly bring to the community, and the significance of supporting and caring for them as they age.
