The Community College of Qatar (CCQ) and Hassad Food Company have recently signed a strategic partnership to enhance field-training opportunities, drive research projects, and optimize resource use. This collaboration aims to strengthen cooperation in scientific research, student capstone projects, knowledge sharing, and the organization of academic studies, conferences, workshops, seminars, and joint training initiatives. The agreement was signed by CCQ President Dr. Khalid Mohamed Al Horr and CEO of Hassad Food Company Engineer Ali Hilal Al Kuwari at a ceremony attended by representatives from both institutions.

Dr. Al Horr expressed his enthusiasm for the partnership, highlighting the valuable internship opportunities it will provide for CCQ students at Hassad’s various subsidiaries. These internships will not only introduce students to the critical role of agriculture and food security but also facilitate collaboration on research projects related to food production systems and other shared areas of interest. He emphasized the importance of synergies between academic institutions and the business sector, noting that such partnerships can drive innovation, advance academic and research initiatives, promote knowledge exchange, and support sustainable practices in food security and production.

Eng. Al Kuwari also expressed excitement about the collaboration, noting that Hassad has implemented a comprehensive training program for students since 2021. This program offers hands-on field experience across various departments and subsidiaries of Hassad Food Company and supports students’ research projects to ensure they gain the most from their training period. He mentioned that the partnership with CCQ aligns with Qatar’s Vision 2030 and Hassad’s strategic investment objectives, aiming to inspire the next generation to understand the importance of food security in the country.

The collaboration between CCQ and Hassad Food Company signifies a commitment to fostering stronger ties between academia and the industry, driving research and innovation in food security and production. By providing students with internship opportunities and hands-on training experiences, the partnership aims to equip them with the skills and knowledge needed to contribute to the agricultural sector and support Qatar’s strategic goals. Through joint initiatives, such as research projects and knowledge exchange programs, both institutions seek to create a meaningful impact on the local agricultural landscape and promote sustainable practices in food production.

This strategic partnership between CCQ and Hassad Food Company marks a significant step towards enhancing collaboration in scientific research and knowledge sharing. By pooling their resources and expertise, both institutions can leverage their strengths to address key challenges in the agricultural sector and contribute to the development of innovative solutions. The agreement also paves the way for future joint initiatives, such as academic studies, conferences, and training programs, that will further strengthen their partnership and drive progress in the field of food security and production.

In conclusion, the partnership between CCQ and Hassad Food Company holds great promise for advancing research, innovation, and sustainable practices in the agricultural sector. By working together to provide students with valuable training opportunities and support research projects, both institutions are set to make a meaningful impact on food security and production in Qatar. As they continue to collaborate and share knowledge, the partnership is expected to yield positive outcomes that benefit not only the academic and business sectors but also the wider community.
