The Sultanate of Oman is on a mission to achieve the goals outlined in Oman Vision 2040, as highlighted in the third annual report issued by the Oman Vision 2040 Implementation Follow-up Unit. The report focuses on the actual performance of government agencies and their efforts in various economic and development sectors throughout 2023. This methodology aims to monitor and document the progress made by government agencies in alignment with the objectives of Oman Vision 2040.

One of the key achievements highlighted in the report is the economic progress made by the Sultanate of Oman. The country has improved its rankings in several international indices, including the Economic Freedom Index, Entrepreneurship Index, and Environmental Performance Index. This progress underscores the government’s commitment to fostering a conducive environment for economic growth and development.

In the education and research sector, the government has audited higher education institutions, funded research projects, and established new museums. These initiatives demonstrate the government’s dedication to investing in human capital and promoting a culture of research and innovation in Oman.

The healthcare sector has also seen significant improvements, with the government investing in healthcare infrastructure, establishing new factories for medicines and medical supplies, and replacing hospitals and healthcare centers. These efforts aim to enhance the quality of healthcare services and ensure the well-being of the population.

Welfare and social protection programs like “Maksab” and “Joud” have been launched to support families and establish a comprehensive database of productive families. These initiatives underscore the government’s commitment to ensuring the welfare of its citizens and promoting social inclusion and cohesion.

Efforts have also been made to enhance economic leadership and management capabilities to achieve sustainable economic growth. Additionally, the government has focused on economic diversification and financial sustainability, reducing public debt, achieving budget surpluses, and improving government spending efficiency.

In terms of the labor market and employment, new labor laws and regulations have been issued to raise the efficiency of the labor market and increase Omanization. The government has also worked to enhance the investment environment for the private sector and provide incentives to small and medium enterprises, promoting economic growth and job creation.

In conclusion, the report demonstrates the Sultanate of Oman’s commitment to achieving the goals of Oman Vision 2040 through various initiatives and reforms. By focusing on economic progress, education and research, healthcare, welfare and social protection, economic leadership and management, and sustainable development, the government is working towards a brighter future for the people of Oman.
