Minister of State for International Cooperation at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs H E Lolwah bin Rashid Al Khater met with Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of the State of Palestine H E Varsen Shaheen Aghabekian in Doha. The meeting took place on the margin of the Education Above All Foundation’s 5th Observance of the International Day to Protect Education from Attack. The discussion focused on the developments in the Gaza Strip and the occupied Palestinian territories, as well as other topics of common interest. Al Khater reiterated Qatar’s strong condemnation of the escalating attacks on civilians and infrastructure in the occupied West Bank.

The Minister of State for International Cooperation expressed grave concern over the ongoing settler incursions into the courtyards of the Al-Aqsa Mosque, which are being carried out under the protection of Israeli occupation forces. She also raised concerns about the persistent efforts to Judaize and alter the legal and historical status of the Holy City of Jerusalem. The meeting between Al Khater and Aghabekian highlighted the importance of international cooperation and solidarity in addressing these issues and protecting the rights of the Palestinian people.

The discussions between the two ministers underscored the need for sustained efforts to achieve a peaceful resolution to the conflict in the region. They also emphasized the significance of supporting education in Palestine and ensuring that children have access to quality education despite the challenges they face. Both Al Khater and Aghabekian expressed their commitment to working together to promote peace, stability, and prosperity in the region and to support the Palestinian people in their quest for justice and self-determination.

The meeting between Al Khater and Aghabekian is a reflection of the strong and enduring ties between Qatar and Palestine. It demonstrates Qatar’s ongoing support for the Palestinian cause and its commitment to standing in solidarity with the Palestinian people in their struggle for freedom and sovereignty. The discussions between the two ministers also highlight the shared values and principles that unite the two nations and underscore the importance of collaboration and cooperation in addressing regional challenges and promoting peace and security in the Middle East.

As the international community continues to grapple with the ongoing crisis in the Middle East, the meeting between Al Khater and Aghabekian serves as a reminder of the importance of dialogue and diplomacy in resolving conflicts and promoting peace. It also underscores the crucial role that education plays in building a more inclusive and equitable society, as well as the need to protect educational institutions from attacks and ensure that all children have access to quality education. The discussions between the two ministers are indicative of the commitment of both Qatar and Palestine to working together to address the challenges facing the region and to build a better future for all.
