The Al Hamla community in Bahrain is calling for improvements to their infrastructure and the development of recreational facilities, with a recent visit by Municipal Council member Mohammed Saad Al Dosari shedding light on their needs. Among the concerns highlighted by residents are the lack of a main road leading to the sea, a designated area for landing and launching boats, and the need for a proper playground for children. Lighting along the coastline is also deemed essential as the area is currently unlit, posing safety risks to beachgoers.

One of the residents, Ali, raised concerns about a drainage ditch at the entrance to the beach, which serves as a breeding ground for mosquitos and has caused over 10 accidents due to the lack of street lighting. He urged authorities to address the issue by extending the drainage pipe directly to the sea or eliminating the ditch entirely to ensure the safety of those visiting the beach. The Al Abd Al Saleh mosque in the area also lacks designated parking, posing challenges for worshippers who have to cross a busy street without proper traffic signals or speed reduction measures.

The village cemetery in Al Hamla is also facing development delays, with the Jaffari Endowments appointing a contractor to fence the cemetery almost a year and a half ago. Work has been stalled, but a new company has been contracted to commence the fencing project in October, according to Al Dosari. Additionally, there is a pressing need for recreational facilities for children in the area, as well as primary schools for both boys and girls, kindergartens, banks, and a health center, all of which are currently lacking.

Despite a previous proposal to acquire land surrounding the Al Hamla coastline for recreational purposes being rejected by the Ministry of Municipalities, Al Dosari has escalated the request to His Royal Highness the Crown Prince and Prime Minister. He also highlighted the need for a harbor for fishermen in the area, similar to those found in neighboring towns and villages like Budaiya, Al Jasra, and Al Malikiya. In conclusion, the Al Hamla community is advocating for improvements to their infrastructure and the development of essential recreational and educational facilities to enhance the quality of life for residents in the area.
