The Ministry of Health recently inaugurated the Al Mazyouna Hospital in Dhofar Governorate, in alignment with the Oman Vision 2040 strategic goals of providing specialized healthcare institutions in various governorates. The inauguration ceremony was held under the patronage of His Highness Sayyid Marwan bin Turki Al Said, Governor of Dhofar, and was attended by H.E. Dr. Hilal Ali Al Sabti, Minister of Health, as well as other ministry officials. The project, which cost over OMR 15 million and covered a built-up area of 13,649 square meters, was directly supervised by the Ministry of Health.

The main building of Al Mazyouna Hospital includes clinics for general medicine, internal medicine, dentistry, pediatrics, surgery, otolaryngology (ENT), ophthalmology, as well as clinics for the expanded immunization program and gynecology and obstetrics. The hospital has a capacity of 50 beds distributed across various inpatient wards for male and female internal medicine, obstetrics and gynecology, pediatrics, surgery, as well as critical care units for adults and neonates. Additionally, the facility features an emergency and accident unit, a dialysis unit, a delivery room, and an operating theater.

In addition to inpatient services, the hospital also includes various departments such as diagnostic services, including a radiology department offering CT scans and conventional X-rays. There is also a medical biomedical engineering workshop, a central sterilization unit, a medical warehouse, a general store, and other supportive services within the building. This state-of-the-art facility is equipped to meet the evolving demands for healthcare services in the region.

The Al Mazyouna Hospital project is part of the Ministry of Health’s larger efforts to develop the healthcare system in Oman and enhance its efficiency in response to population growth and the increasing need for healthcare services. By providing specialized care and advanced medical services in the Dhofar Governorate, the hospital aims to improve access to quality healthcare for residents in the region. The strategic location of the hospital and its comprehensive range of services make it a vital addition to the healthcare infrastructure in Oman.

The Ministry of Health’s focus on expanding specialized healthcare institutions across various governorates reflects its commitment to providing accessible and high-quality healthcare services to all residents of Oman. With the inauguration of Al Mazyouna Hospital, the Ministry takes a significant step towards achieving the goals outlined in Oman Vision 2040. The hospital’s modern facilities, advanced equipment, and specialized medical staff ensure that patients in Dhofar Governorate receive the best possible care and treatment for their healthcare needs.

Overall, the inauguration of Al Mazyouna Hospital marks a significant milestone in Oman’s healthcare system, as it not only expands access to specialized medical services but also enhances the efficiency and effectiveness of healthcare delivery in the region. The Ministry of Health’s continued efforts to improve healthcare infrastructure and services across the country demonstrate its commitment to ensuring the well-being and health of all residents. With the completion of the Al Mazyouna Hospital project, the Ministry sets a new standard for healthcare provision in Oman, setting the stage for further advancements in the healthcare sector in the years to come.
