Al Rayyan players are gearing up for their AFC Champions League Elite match against Al Hilal, with coach Poya Asbaghi emphasizing the importance of a strong defensive performance. As the Saudi Pro League giants enter the Ahmad Bin Ali Stadium with three consecutive wins under their belt, Asbaghi is looking to his team to bounce back from a slow start to their local season and make a strong start to their Asian campaign. With Al Rayyan needing to be completely focused and up against a tough offensive side, Asbaghi stresses the need for strict defensive organization.

Having studied Al Hilal well, Asbaghi is preparing his team for a match that will be different from their local league games and requires utmost concentration. Al Rayyan midfielder Julien De Sart acknowledges the challenge ahead, emphasizing the need for defensive play and control of Al Hilal’s strengths. Meanwhile, Al Hilal coach Jorge Jesus is aware of the tougher challenge presented by the new format of the AFC Champions League Elite and is targeting a strong start against a good Al Rayyan side.

Al Hilal captain Salem Al Dawsari is focused on the present match against Al Rayyan, noting that past results will have no impact on today’s clash. With the goal of maintaining their brilliance in the tournament, Al Hilal are aiming for their fifth Asian title and making a record 20th appearance in the competition. The match is set to kick off at 7pm, with both teams eager to make a strong start in the AFC Champions League Elite.
