The M7 centre in Doha, Qatar will be hosting a series of public programmes centered around the work and legacy of American artist Ellsworth Kelly. The exhibition, titled Ellsworth Kelly at 100, will celebrate the artist’s centennial and showcase his seven-decade career. The programmes will be held from August 2024 to January 2025 and will cater to a wide range of audiences, including designers, the general public, schools, children, families, and community groups.

The schedule of programmes will include workshops for kids and families, sensory-friendly workshops, engagement opportunities for adults, public lectures, school visits, teacher training, and a special collaborative programme that explores the connection between Ellsworth Kelly’s work and Islamic design. These programmes are designed to introduce visitors from the MENA region to the artist’s unique style and contributions to the art world.

The programmes will be delivered in collaboration with various partners, including other QM entities, schools, educators, and local creatives. Those interested in participating in the workshops can register online at M7.org.qa and follow M7’s Instagram account @M7.qatar for updates and more information on the events. The full schedule of programmes includes workshops like Nature is the Best Teacher, Colour Burst, Shapes in Space, and Abstraction and Deconstruction Exploration.

For educators, there will be a special Teacher Training and Toolkit Exploration session to help them incorporate Ellsworth Kelly’s work into their lessons. Toolkits will be available for various subjects including design and technology, English language, art, maths, and science. Additionally, there will be a Train of Trainers session for adult creatives who want to share their skills with the community through engaging public workshops related to the exhibition.

The programmes aim to provide a unique and immersive experience for participants of all ages, allowing them to explore and engage with Ellsworth Kelly’s art in a creative and interactive way. The workshops will encourage creative expression, inspire a deeper understanding of the artist’s work, and provide a space for learning and collaboration within the community. Don’t miss out on this opportunity to be a part of the celebration of Ellsworth Kelly’s legacy at M7 in Doha, Qatar from August 2024 to January 2025.
