The Minister of Transport in Qatar, Jassim bin Saif Al Sulaiti, recently met with the Minister of Economy of the Portuguese Republic, Pedro Reis, in Doha. The two ministers discussed the bilateral relations between the two countries in the fields of transportation and communications. They focused on developing and strengthening the economic partnership in these sectors and pushing towards broader horizons. This includes utilizing modern and smart technology related to transportation services, railway systems, civil aviation, and ports.

One of the key topics of discussion was the importance of modern and smart technology in the transportation sector. Both countries recognize the potential for growth and development by incorporating advanced technology into their transportation systems. This includes implementing smart technology in areas such as transportation services, railway systems, civil aviation, and ports. By embracing these innovations, both Qatar and Portugal can improve their efficiency, safety, and overall transportation infrastructure.

The meeting between the two ministers also emphasized the importance of expanding the economic partnership between Qatar and Portugal. By working together and leveraging each other’s strengths, the two countries can create new opportunities for cooperation and growth in the transportation and communications sectors. This collaboration can lead to mutual benefits for both countries, including increased trade, investment, and job creation in these vital industries.

The discussions between Minister Al Sulaiti and Minister Reis also highlighted the potential for collaboration in the railway sector. Railways play a critical role in connecting different regions and promoting economic development. By working together, Qatar and Portugal can explore opportunities for joint projects and investments in the railway sector. This collaboration could lead to the development of new rail networks, improved connectivity, and enhanced transportation infrastructure in both countries.

The meeting was attended by Ambassador of the Portuguese Republic to Qatar, Paulo Neves Pocinho, and the delegation accompanying the Portuguese Minister of Economy. This demonstrates the commitment of both countries to strengthening their bilateral relations and exploring new opportunities for cooperation. By fostering closer ties between their respective transportation and communications sectors, Qatar and Portugal can create a foundation for sustainable growth and development in the years to come.

Overall, the meeting between Minister Al Sulaiti and Minister Reis reflects the shared commitment of Qatar and Portugal to advancing their economic partnership in the transportation and communications sectors. By leveraging modern and smart technology, exploring new opportunities for collaboration, and expanding their cooperation in areas such as railways, both countries can achieve long-term success and prosperity. This partnership has the potential to create a more connected, efficient, and sustainable transportation infrastructure that benefits the citizens of both Qatar and Portugal.
