His Highness Sheikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Humanitarian Works and Youth Affairs, and Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, reiterated the significant role that the Sports City project holds for Bahrain during the ninth meeting of the project’s implementation committee. The project reflects the commitment of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa towards promoting sports and youth movements in the Kingdom. Sheikh Nasser expressed his appreciation for the support of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, in enhancing Bahrain’s sports infrastructure.

The meeting, which was attended by key figures such as Minister of Finance, His Excellency Sheikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, and Secretary-General of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, Mr. Ayman bin Tawfiq Al Moayyed, focused on various aspects of the Sports City project. Presentations were made regarding the project’s overall design, timeline, and public facilities, emphasizing its importance as a landmark addition to Bahrain’s ongoing development efforts. Sheikh Nasser highlighted Bahrain’s aspiration to become a top destination for sporting events and expressed confidence in the Sports City’s ability to attract investments, promote a competitive sporting environment, and elevate the Kingdom’s standing on the global sports scene.

Moving forward, with the unwavering support of the Royal family and the government, the Sports City project is on track to materialize, shaping the future of sports in Bahrain and reinforcing the Kingdom’s status as a prominent regional and international sporting hub. The development of the Sports City is seen as a crucial step towards achieving Bahrain’s vision of becoming a premier sports destination. The project is expected to play a vital role in enhancing the country’s sporting infrastructure, attracting both local and international athletes, and hosting various high-profile sports events.

The Sports City project is a part of Bahrain’s broader strategy to promote sports and youth activities, as well as enhance the overall quality of life for its citizens. With a focus on creating a vibrant sporting culture and fostering talented athletes, the project aims to provide state-of-the-art facilities and opportunities for individuals to engage in various sports activities. The Sports City is envisioned as a dynamic space that will not only host sporting events but also serve as a hub for community engagement, health, and wellness initiatives.

As the Sports City project progresses, it is expected to generate significant social, economic, and cultural benefits for Bahrain. The development of world-class sports facilities will attract sports enthusiasts, athletes, and spectators from around the globe, boosting tourism and promoting Bahrain as a competitive destination for sports tourism. The project’s completion is anticipated to mark a new era for sports in Bahrain, with the Sports City serving as a catalyst for growth and innovation in the country’s sporting landscape.
