The Shura Council recently participated in a meeting of the Palestine Committee in the Arab Parliament at the Parliament’s headquarters in Cairo. Representing the State of Qatar, H E Sheikha bint Youssef Al Jufairi discussed the ongoing developments in the Gaza Strip and the Occupied Palestinian Territories. She emphasized Qatar’s efforts to halt Israeli aggression in Gaza and ensure the consistent flow of life-saving humanitarian aid into the region. Qatar is committed to stopping the violence, protecting civilians, providing assistance, and preventing the conflict from escalating further.

Ambassador Mohannad Al Aklouk, the Permanent Representative of the State of Palestine to the League of Arab States, briefed the committee members on the latest updates from the Gaza Strip. Following the discussions, the committee approved a draft resolution addressing the situation in Palestine, as well as another draft resolution focusing on Palestinian women living in the occupied territories. These resolutions will be presented at the upcoming general session of the Arab Parliament, scheduled to take place at the headquarters of the Arab League.

Qatar’s ongoing efforts to support and protect the rights of Palestinians were acknowledged and praised during the discussions.
