The Modern College of Commerce and Science in Baushar recently opened its Innovation and Entrepreneurship Centre and Sustainability Centre under the patronage of Her Excellency Dr. Rahma bint Ibrahim Al Mahrouqia, Minister of Higher Education, Scientific Research, and Innovation. The Ministry of Higher Education, Scientific Research, and Innovation supports higher education institutions with innovation centers to provide services like business incubators, accelerators, and intellectual property rights services. These centers also help with technology registration, transfer, and localization, as well as establishing modeling laboratories to create innovative companies that will support the national economy.
Dr. Musa bin Abdullah Al Kindi, Dean of the Modern College of Commerce and Science, highlighted the ongoing efforts to enhance the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Centre by providing services for both students and external beneficiaries. The college is working on developing a system for innovation, scientific research, and sustainability, which includes a technology transfer and localization office. Plans are in place to establish a manufacturing laboratory to further support emerging companies. In addition, a Sustainability Centre has been established to promote awareness and education on environmental sustainability issues and conduct research in this field.
