Bahrain’s Commitment to Prioritizing Cybersecurity for National Security and Prosperity

His Highness Major General Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, National Security Advisor, Commander of the Royal Guard, and Secretary General of the Supreme Defense Council, has emphasized Bahrain’s commitment to prioritizing cybersecurity to ensure national security and sustained prosperity. This commitment is in line with the vision of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, who recognizes the crucial role of robust cybersecurity in the rapidly evolving digital landscape that impacts regional and global sectors.

During a high-level meeting attended by key officials, including HH Shaikh Khalid bin Ali Al Khalifa and Shaikh Salman bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, HH Shaikh Nasser highlighted the significant progress made under the leadership of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa. He praised the government’s pioneering initiatives in digital transformation, emphasizing Bahrain’s expertise and commitment to long-term prosperity by strengthening secure digital infrastructure with the highest cybersecurity standards.

HH Shaikh Nasser also acknowledged the extensive support for Bahrain’s telecommunications, information technology, and digital economy sectors, crediting the determination of loyal citizens for driving the country’s advancement in these areas. He stated that Bahrain’s achievements in digital security have positioned it as a leading example of success in adopting the latest technological advancements and best practices, setting it apart from other nations.

In his address, HH Shaikh Nasser expressed gratitude for the achievements that have strengthened Bahrain’s cybersecurity standing, emphasizing the importance of the National Cybersecurity Center continuing to develop its strategies in alignment with the directives of the Supreme Defense Council. He highlighted the essential role of cybersecurity as a “protective shield” for the nation in the vast digital space, stressing the shared responsibility of safeguarding Bahrain’s progress in cybersecurity for future development.

HH Shaikh Salman bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, CEO of the National Cybersecurity Center, extended his appreciation to HH Shaikh Nasser for his unwavering support and reaffirmed the center’s commitment to serving Bahrain and achieving its strategic objectives. He emphasized the importance of protecting the nation in the digital age, ensuring that Bahrain is well-positioned to safeguard its critical infrastructure, maintain national security, and ensure prosperity for its citizens in the years ahead.

As Bahrain continues to advance its digital security frameworks and enhance its cybersecurity capabilities, it is poised to protect its critical infrastructure, maintain national security, and pave the way for future prosperity. The commitment to cybersecurity, under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Highness Major General Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, reflects Bahrain’s dedication to ensuring the safety and security of its citizens in an increasingly digital world.
