President Zelenskyy praised the country’s air defence systems, mobile fire groups, and electronic warfare systems for preventing most of the 111 attack drones launched by Russia from reaching their intended targets. However, he expressed sadness over the death of one person and offered his condolences to their family and loved ones. Zelenskyy highlighted that Russia had not scaled back its attacks on Ukraine over the holiday period, with an escalation in aerial assaults reported.
During a large-scale Christmas attack on Ukraine, Russia reportedly fired 78 missiles and 106 drones against multiple cities.
