Horner acknowledged Norris as a consistent challenger, with four second-place finishes and a win in the last six rounds.
Norris expressed disappointment in not being able to close the performance gap with Verstappen. He emphasized the importance of challenging and beating Verstappen rather than focusing on his position in the championship standings. Despite moving to second in the championship, Norris remained focused on narrowing the performance gap and challenging Verstappen in future races. He acknowledged missed opportunities in recent races but remained confident in McLaren’s capabilities to secure victories.
Horner recognized the progress and consistency Norris has shown in recent races, positioning him as a standout contender. Verstappen’s teammate, Sergio Perez, has struggled to match the champion’s performance, reflecting a significant points difference between the two Red Bull drivers.
