UAE Weather: Red Alert Issued as Foggy Conditions Persist; Possibility of Rainfall in Certain Areas

The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) issued a warning to motorists about poor visibility caused by fog formation on Sunday morning, June 23. The red alert was sent out, notifying residents of a decrease in horizontal visibility that may worsen until 8:30 am. Abu Dhabi Police also cautioned drivers against poor visibility and advised them to reduce speed and follow traffic safety guidelines. The UAE can expect fair to partly cloudy weather on Sunday, with low clouds in the east coast in the morning and potential rainfall in the afternoon due to convective clouds. Humidity is expected to increase by night and Monday morning, with a possibility of mist in coastal areas.

The met department issued a red alert for heavy fog on Saturday, and the foggy conditions will persist until Sunday. Temperatures are expected to reach 50ºC in specific areas like Gasyoura, Al Quaa, and Razeen, with humidity levels reaching up to 65 per cent in Razeen and 40 per cent in Gasyoura and Al Quaa. Abu Dhabi and Dubai will experience temperatures of up to 46ºC and 45ºC respectively. On Friday, June 21, Mezaira in the Al Dhafra region recorded the highest temperature of the summer season so far at 49.9 °C. Light to moderate winds are expected during the day, with occasional freshening. The sea conditions are expected to be slight in the Arabian Gulf and the Oman Sea.
