Abu Dhabi residents are being warned about fake property listings on social media. Scammers are posting photos of non-existent properties with attractive prices to lure victims and then defraud them after they show interest and make an advanced deposit. Abu Dhabi Police stressed the importance of adhering to rental contract regulations and urged prospective tenants to go through registered rental agencies to avoid falling for real estate scams. The authorities have also issued preventive measures that people can take to protect themselves from becoming victims of these scams, such as contacting authorized real estate offices, requesting intermediaries to show their Emirati ID, and ensuring that the property is registered with the relevant government sector.

In Dubai, the land authorities have cracked down on misleading property listings and instructed real estate agents to remove properties that are unavailable for sale or rent from their digital platforms within a three-day deadline. Property listing websites were asked to integrate their systems with the Dubai Land Department website to ensure the validity of all listings and prevent fake ones. Job scams are also on the rise, with scammers posing as authorized recruitment agencies and holding formal events to fake job offers and demand fees from applicants. Residents are urged to report any suspicious calls or fraudulent activities to the authorities to combat these fraudulent schemes and protect society.

It is crucial for individuals to stay vigilant and cautious when dealing with property listings or job offers on social media platforms. Following the recommended preventive measures, such as contacting authorized real estate offices, verifying the authenticity of representatives, and ensuring official documentation, can help protect individuals from falling victim to these scams. Authorities have also emphasized the importance of reporting any suspicious activities to the police to prevent further fraud and protect the community from becoming targets of these fraudulent schemes.

In conclusion, the rise of fake property listings and job scams on social media platforms has prompted law enforcement agencies to issue warnings to residents in Abu Dhabi and Dubai. By following the recommended preventive measures, staying informed about the latest news updates, and reporting any suspicious activities to the authorities, individuals can protect themselves from falling victim to these fraudulent schemes. It is essential for the community to remain cautious and vigilant while engaging in any property or job-related transactions online to avoid becoming victims of these scams.
