Fouzia Zahour, a trailblazing Emirati woman, has broken barriers as the youngest woman to obtain a heavy vehicle license in the UAE. Despite facing no special treatment during the licensing process, Fouzia passed her driving test on the first try. Originally from India, Fouzia has been supported by her family as she pursued her dream in a male-dominated industry. Fouzia’s determination and resilience stem from her experience of taking care of her mother until her passing, which motivated her to achieve her goals and empower women in the workforce.

Having obtained her car license in 2013, Fouzia decided to pursue a heavy vehicle license after nine years. She faced surprise from officers due to her gender during the testing process, showcasing her resilience and determination to succeed in her field. Now employed at a private company in Fujairah, Fouzia’s daily routine involves transporting items, such as sand and stones, across various locations. She has mastered the skill of maneuvering large trucks and takes precautions to ensure safety on the road during her long journeys.

Fouzia prioritizes safety and responsibility while driving large trucks, emphasizing the importance of checking vehicle conditions and tire maintenance, especially during the heat of summer. She is vigilant in monitoring her truck’s condition and ensuring on-the-spot assistance if needed to prevent accidents. Despite facing skepticism and backlash online, Fouzia remains focused on inspiring others, particularly women, through her social media platforms and YouTube channel. Her goal is to become the first female instructor for heavy vehicles and empower more women to pursue careers in male-dominated industries.

Fouzia’s journey highlights the importance of gender equality and empowerment in the workplace, showcasing the UAE’s commitment to supporting women in non-traditional roles. By sharing her experiences and achievements online, Fouzia aims to inspire other women to break barriers and excel in fields typically dominated by men. Her determination and passion for her job serve as a testament to the endless possibilities for women in the workforce, encouraging others to pursue their dreams and strive for success in any industry they choose.
