With schools reopening soon, parents in Sharjah are searching for affordable gadgets for their children’s educational needs. The ‘Used Laptop Market’ located at the junction of industrial areas 2, 3, 5, and 6 offers good deals on laptops and tablets. Shanawaz, sales head at Royal Used Computers highlighted that prices of laptops start as low as Dh50. For example, a used Chromebook in good condition can be purchased for Dh50, and prices can go up to Dh300 depending on the brand, specifications, and manufacturing year.

Not only entry-level models are available at low prices, but even branded laptops can be found cheap at the market. Prices for branded laptops start at Dh200 for 6th- and 7th-generation devices and go up depending on the specifications. For parents seeking high-quality devices for their children’s academic pursuits, the market offers some great deals. Abdul Rahman from Giant Used Computer Sales mentioned an increase in demand as parents prepare for the new school year. The market offers laptops and tablets suitable for students and professionals alike.

The source of these budget-friendly gadgets is mainly from Europe and the US. In these regions, laptops are often used for only a year before being replaced with newer models. These slightly used devices are then exported to other countries like Sharjah where they are sold for 50 to 70 percent less than their original price. Saleem Kotamal, owner of Unique Used Computers, explained that the market offers laptops that are barely used for a few months at significantly lower prices compared to purchasing brand new devices.

With branded laptops starting at Dh200 and even Apple MacBooks available for as low as Dh300, the ‘Used Laptop Market’ in Sharjah provides a great opportunity for families looking to buy affordable gadgets for their children’s educational needs. The market not only caters to students but also offers devices suitable for professionals. The demand for laptops in preparation for the new school year has increased, with some parents being able to sell back their devices from the previous year to purchase newer models at the market. Overall, the market serves as a go-to destination for those looking for budget-friendly tech items without compromising on quality.
