The Zayed Higher Organisation for People of Determination announced on Sunday that parking permits for people of determination (PoD) in Abu Dhabi and Dubai are now digital, eliminating the need for paper permits. This transition allows PoD to easily carry their permits on their phones or devices, making it more convenient for them. These digital permits will be linked to the system for those with active permits issued in either Abu Dhabi or Dubai, making it easier for individuals to travel between the two emirates.

In Abu Dhabi, people of determination can park for free in paid parking spaces, whereas in Dubai, paid parking spaces will still incur charges. Salama Al Reyami, the head of networks and operations at Zayed Higher Organisation for People of Determination, stated that this project is a new step in improving the quality of life for PoD. The organisation aims to create a better reality and an easier future through sustainability and digital transformation.

People of determination in Sharjah no longer need to display their ID cards behind their cars’ windshields to get free parking. Since May, their cards have been automatically linked to the municipality’s public parking system. Additionally, individuals in the UAE can apply for a free parking permit online. The process is free of charge, easy, and does not take much time, making it more accessible for PoD to obtain the necessary permits for parking.

The announcement of digital parking permits for people of determination in Abu Dhabi and Dubai signifies a positive step towards inclusivity and accessibility for individuals with disabilities. By transitioning to digital permits, PoD can easily carry their permits on their phones or devices, eliminating the need for paper permits. This initiative improves the quality of life for PoD by providing more convenience and flexibility in parking options.

The digital permits will be electronically linked to the system for those with active permits issued in either Abu Dhabi or Dubai, allowing individuals to travel between the two emirates without any hassle. In Abu Dhabi, people of determination can park for free in paid parking spaces, while in Dubai, charges will still apply for paid parking spaces. This initiative aims to create a better reality for PoD by promoting sustainability and digital transformation in parking services.

Individuals in Sharjah no longer need to display their ID cards behind their cars’ windshields to avail free parking, as their cards are automatically linked to the municipality’s public parking system. Additionally, people of determination in the UAE can apply for a free parking permit online, making the process easy, convenient, and accessible. This initiative reflects the commitment of the Zayed Higher Organisation for People of Determination to improve the lives of individuals with disabilities and create a more inclusive society.
