The traffic situation in Dubai and Sharjah has worsened in recent days, with school reopening and ongoing construction work on major routes causing gridlock for motorists. The usual morning rush-hour traffic has deteriorated, with many drivers spending hours on the roads starting as early as 6am. Commuters report long queues on various roads, such as Al Ittihad Road, Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Road, and Beirut Street, making it challenging to reach their destinations on time. The congestion has forced some drivers to consider alternative routes and carpooling to ease their daily commute struggles.

Waqas Saghar, who works in a delivery company, notes that the traffic has increased dramatically since the summer break, with the journey from Sharjah to Dubai now taking up to one and a half hours. The congestion on major roads has extended the travel time significantly, with delays at exits and traffic signals causing further disruptions. Similarly, Amr Abdel Salam, a store owner in Abu Hail, has experienced longer commute times due to dropping off his children at school before heading to work. The increased traffic volume has made it necessary for residents to leave home earlier to reach their destinations on time.

Anum Noor, a regular commuter between Sharjah and Dubai, has also noticed a significant increase in traffic volume since the schools reopened. The Sharjah-Dubai route has become a major concern for many residents, with evening commutes also taking longer than usual. Mohammed AbuNael, a marketing executive, has tried various routes and considered carpooling as possible solutions to the traffic congestion issue, but the daily struggle remains a challenge for many people. The ongoing construction work on Al Khail Road, Al Mamzar, and Emirates Road further adds to the traffic woes, making it difficult for commuters to find relief.

As residents continue to navigate through the traffic challenges, the situation calls for proactive measures to alleviate congestion and improve commuting experiences. Exploring alternative routes, carpooling, and adjusting travel times may offer some relief to drivers facing long delays on their daily commutes between Dubai and Sharjah. With the hope that traffic eases as the school year progresses, residents are looking for ways to mitigate the effects of the current gridlock and make their journeys more efficient. Despite the difficulties, many commuters remain determined to find solutions and adapt to the changing traffic conditions in the region.
