The Gender Balance Committee of The Shura Council General Secretariat in Bahrain organized a special event for the children of its employees for the sixth consecutive year. The event aims to introduce parliamentary culture to the younger generation and familiarize them with the legislative authority’s role in the nation’s progress under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. Sponsored by HE Mrs. Karima Mohammed Al Abbasi, Secretary-General of the Shura Council, the event is part of the Gender Balance Committee’s agenda led by Dr. Fawzia Al Jeeb.

The event featured various educational and recreational activities for the children of employees to encourage social interaction, national pride, and a greater understanding of parliamentary culture. The children participated in activities such as pottery painting themed “Love of the Nation” to stimulate their creativity. Competitions were also held to promote engagement and dialogue among the children. A video explaining the Shura Council’s duties and the General Secretariat’s role was shown, followed by a visit to the main hall where council sessions take place.

Parents expressed their gratitude to the General Secretariat of the Shura Council for organizing such events that strengthen relationships among employees and focus on their children. They believe that these events help instill a sense of love and loyalty to the nation in the younger generation. The parents hope that the council will continue to host similar events to reinforce social ties among employees and promote a sense of community within the organization.

The initiative by the Gender Balance Committee reflects the commitment of the Shura Council General Secretariat to support Bahraini women and families, thereby improving their quality of life. The committee, under the leadership of Dr. Fawzia Al Jeeb, aims to elevate efforts that empower women and promote gender equality within the organization. By organizing events like this for the employees’ children, the committee helps create a positive work environment that values family and community.

The event not only provided a fun and educational experience for the children but also gave them a firsthand look at the inner workings of the Shura Council. By introducing them to parliamentary culture and the role of the legislative authority, the event aimed to inspire the younger generation to take an interest in governance and public service. Through activities like pottery painting and competitions, the children were able to express their creativity and engage in meaningful dialogue with their peers.

Overall, the event organized by the Gender Balance Committee of The Shura Council General Secretariat served as a valuable opportunity to promote social cohesion, national pride, and a sense of community among employees and their families. By focusing on the children and involving them in activities that foster learning and creativity, the committee demonstrated its dedication to supporting Bahraini women and families. Parents appreciated the efforts of the General Secretariat and expressed their hope for more such events in the future to continue building strong relationships and a sense of belonging within the organization.
