The Cabinet hosts its weekly meeting | The Peninsula Qatar

The Cabinet’s regular meeting, chaired by Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs HE Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, was held in Doha, Qatar. The Cabinet commended the outcomes of the official visit of HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani to the Netherlands, highlighting the strengthened relations between the two countries. The meeting discussed various topics, including the formation of the Licensing Committee in the Real Estate Regulatory Authority, the approval of executive regulations for real estate registration, and joining the International Dates Council.

Additionally, the Cabinet approved various agreements and memoranda of understanding, such as the Partnership Framework Agreement between Qatar Fund for Development and the United Nations Development Programme, as well as agreements with the United Nations Children’s Fund and the Government of Bangladesh. There were also agreements with Saudi Arabia, Burundi, Djibouti, China, and Thailand, highlighting Qatar’s commitment to bilateral cooperation and mutual investment protection. An agreement regarding the establishment of the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs in Qatar was also approved.

The meeting also reviewed reports on the National Committee for the Prohibition of Weapons, the participation in the UN Commission on the Status of Women session, and a visit by the Minister of Municipality to Oman to enhance cooperation in the field of fisheries. The Cabinet’s decisions showcase Qatar’s commitment to strengthening diplomatic ties, promoting economic cooperation, and supporting international humanitarian efforts. The meeting demonstrated the government’s dedication to advancing various sectors and enhancing partnerships with countries around the world.

The meeting emphasized the importance of the memoranda of understanding and agreements signed during the visit, notably elevating the relations between Qatar and the Netherlands to a new level of constructive cooperation. The enhanced strategic partnership between the two countries signifies a commitment to mutual benefit and collaboration in various fields, emphasizing the importance of international cooperation and diplomacy in today’s global landscape. The agreements reflect Qatar’s efforts to expand its diplomatic reach and strengthen its position as a key player in regional and international affairs.

The approval of the draft Cabinet decision to form the Licensing Committee in the Real Estate Regulatory Authority highlights the government’s focus on regulatory measures to promote transparency and accountability in the real estate sector. The executive regulations for real estate registration aim to streamline processes and ensure compliance with the law, fostering a conducive environment for investment and development in the real estate market. Joining the International Dates Council underscores Qatar’s commitment to participating in global initiatives and promoting sustainable practices in agriculture and food security.

The Cabinet’s approval of various agreements with Saudi Arabia, Burundi, Djibouti, China, and Thailand underscores Qatar’s commitment to building strong partnerships with countries across different regions. The agreements on mutual exemption of visa requirements, cooperation in social development, protection of mutual investments, and legal and judicial cooperation highlight Qatar’s efforts to promote bilateral relations and enhance cooperation in various sectors.
