The Busaiteen Sewerage Network Project Reaches 55% Completion

The construction of the sewerage network in Block 228 in Busaiteen is well underway, with 55% completion on the second phase of the project. Engineer Fathi Al Farea, Assistant Undersecretary for Sewage Projects at the Ministry of Works, confirmed that the project is progressing according to plan. The goal of the project is to connect commercial buildings and residential homes to the sewage network, with the construction of 3.9 km of main sewage lines, 938 metres of secondary sewage lines, and 154 inspection rooms.

Engineer Al Farea emphasized the importance of extending the sewage network to accommodate the expansion and urban growth seen across Bahrain’s governorates. By connecting all properties to the sewage network, the Ministry is providing a vital service to a wider population. The completion of 2,292 metres of main sewer lines and 239 metres of subsidiary sewer lines, along with the creation of 53 main and subsidiary inspection rooms, marks significant progress in the project.

The Ministry of Works has issued a safety advisory to citizens, residents, and the local community to be aware of warning signs during the construction period to ensure everyone’s safety. The project, valued at 918,000 Bahraini dinars, was awarded by the Tender Board. With the project advancing as planned, the Ministry is confident in the successful completion of the sewerage network construction in Block 228 in Busaiteen.
