State and Shura Council Joint Committees meet to discuss controversial articles.

The joint committees of the State Council and the Shura Council in Muscat recently convened to address disputed articles in several draft laws. These bills, focusing on topics such as human organ transplantation, public health, and electronic transactions, were referred for discussion by the Council of Ministers. Specifically, the committees debated 26 articles in the draft law regarding the transfer and transplantation of human organs and tissues, 18 articles in the draft public health law, and 19 articles in the draft law on electronic transactions.

During the meeting, the committees were able to reach a consensus on all of the articles that had been causing disagreement between the State Council and the Shura Council. This collaborative effort and resolution will allow for the finalization of these important laws to move forward. Ultimately, the committees will submit their report on the resolved issues to be discussed in a joint session between the two councils.
