SQU and Saint Petersburg University to partner in student exchange program

Sultan Qaboos University (SQU) and Saint Petersburg State University have signed a cooperation agreement in the field of student exchange programs. This agreement allows undergraduate and postgraduate students from both universities to study for a semester at each other’s institution. The aim of this agreement is to strengthen the universities’ plans for international cooperation and discuss ways of collaboration in areas of common interest.

The agreement was signed on the Omani side by Her Highness Dr. Mona bint Fahd Al Said, Assistant President of Sultan Qaboos University for International Cooperation, and on the Russian side by Dr. Sergey Vladimir, Vice President of Saint Petersburg State University. The signing ceremony was attended by prominent figures such as Jamal Hassan al-Musawi, Secretary-General of the National Museum, and ambassadors from both countries.

Saint Petersburg State University, founded in 1724 by Peter the Great, is one of the oldest and most renowned universities in the Russian Federation. It offers a wide range of academic programs in natural sciences, humanities, social sciences, engineering, and medicine. This partnership with SQU will provide students from both universities with the opportunity to broaden their academic horizons and gain international experience.

This collaboration with Saint Petersburg State University is a significant step for Sultan Qaboos University in its efforts to enhance international cooperation and exchange programs. By allowing students to study abroad at a prestigious institution like Saint Petersburg State University, SQU is providing them with valuable opportunities for personal and academic growth.

The signing of this cooperation agreement signifies a commitment from both universities to foster greater understanding and collaboration between their students and academic communities.
