The Speaker of the Shura Council, HE Hassan bin Abdullah Al Ghanim, emphasized the State of Qatar’s commitment to the unity of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries during a meeting in Abu Dhabi. He highlighted Qatar’s support for joint Gulf action, preserving the values and identity of the Gulf region to build a bright future for the region. The Shura Council plays a vital role in enhancing joint Gulf parliamentary work and cooperation between member states to achieve common goals.

In his speech, HE the Speaker discussed the Shura Council’s efforts to preserve the Gulf identity and strengthen cultural and social ties among the GCC countries. He stressed the importance of these efforts in enhancing Gulf integration and meeting the aspirations of the citizens of the region. Additionally, strengthening parliamentary diplomacy is crucial to support the foreign relations of the GCC countries and convey the voice of Gulf citizens to the international community.

HE Hassan bin Abdullah Al Ghanim reiterated the council’s support for the Palestinian people’s rights, calling for the establishment of an independent Palestinian state on the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital.
