Minister of Social Development and Family H E Maryam bint Ali bin Nasser Al Misnad recently inaugurated a family consultation clinic in Doha, Qatar, with the aim of promoting societal cohesion. The Watad Clinic for marriage and family therapy/consultation is a joint initiative between the Ministry of Social Development and Family (MSDF) and the Family Consulting Center (Wifaq), offering free and confidential support for families facing psychological, social, and educational challenges.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by Supreme Judicial Council judges, senior MSDF officials, and representatives from social centres. Wifaq Executive Director Eng. Jabr Rashid Al Nuaimi emphasized the importance of providing reliable and professional marital and family counseling services to meet the increasing societal needs. The Watad Clinic provides a safe space for families to communicate with specialized consultants, aiming to build strong family relationships and enhance social cohesion.

MSDF’s Social Security Administration Director Abdullah Mohammed Al Hajri highlighted that the Watad consultations are not limited to couples but include all family members, helping them overcome crises and improve understanding. The service has already provided up to 1,590 consultations by the third quarter of this year, indicating a high demand for such support in the community.

The clinic’s services go beyond traditional consultations, offering a comprehensive approach to building and maintaining healthy family relationships. By addressing the needs of all family members, the clinic aims to strengthen the family unit, enhance communication, and promote unity within the community. The launch of the Watad Clinic reflects the government’s commitment to supporting families and promoting social well-being.

The partnership between MSDF and Wifaq demonstrates a collaborative effort to address the evolving challenges faced by families in Qatar. By leveraging the expertise of specialized consultants, the clinic is able to provide tailored support to meet the unique needs of each family. This holistic approach to counseling and therapy ensures that families receive the necessary tools and resources to navigate their challenges and build resilient relationships.

In conclusion, the inauguration of the Watad Clinic for marriage and family therapy/consultation marks an important milestone in promoting social cohesion and supporting families in Qatar. Through this initiative, families can access free and confidential support to address their psychological, social, and educational challenges. With the ongoing demand for such services, the clinic is poised to make a significant impact on strengthening family relationships, fostering unity, and enhancing societal well-being.
