The Shura Council, under the leadership of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, recently concluded its first annual convening of the tenth term on Thursday, 18 July 2024. This meeting falls under the guidelines set forth in article 41 of the Law of the Council of Oman. During this annual convening, 9 agreements and 9 draft laws were successfully completed. Additionally, twelve regular sessions were held, which included in-depth discussions on ministerial statements from various service ministries.

Throughout the first annual convening, the Shura Council addressed a variety of important issues and topics that impact the country and its citizens. Four ministerial statements were delivered, focusing on the work and accomplishments of specific ministries. These statements offered members of the Shura Council the opportunity to ask questions, provide feedback, and seek clarification on various aspects of the ministries’ operations. This open dialogue is crucial for ensuring transparency and accountability within the government.

The completion of 9 agreements and 9 draft laws during the first annual convening demonstrates the commitment of the Shura Council to fulfilling its legislative responsibilities. These agreements and laws are designed to address key issues facing the country and its citizens, providing solutions and guidelines for future governance. The rigorous discussion and debate that took place during the annual convening reflect the dedication and diligence of the Council members in fulfilling their duties.

In addition to the legislative achievements, the annual convening also included important discussions on various aspects of governance and public service. The four ministerial statements delivered highlighted the work and progress of key ministries, allowing for constructive feedback and suggestions from Council members. This collaborative approach to governance ensures that decisions are made with the input of all relevant stakeholders, leading to more effective and inclusive policies.

Overall, the conclusion of the first annual convening of the Shura Council’s tenth term marks an important milestone in Oman’s governance and legislative process. The successful completion of key agreements and draft laws, as well as the in-depth discussions on ministerial statements, demonstrate the dedication of Council members to serving the interests of the country and its people. By upholding the principles of transparency, accountability, and collaboration, the Shura Council continues to play a vital role in shaping the future of Oman.
