The logistics services sector in Saudi Arabia has experienced rapid growth, with a 76% increase in registrations in the April-June quarter, making it the leading sector in the country. This growth is highlighted in the Business Sector Bulletin issued by the Ministry of Commerce, which focuses on the significant economic activities in promising sectors across various regions of the Kingdom. Additionally, the artificial intelligence sector saw a 53% growth with 8,948 registrations, while cloud-computing services and the electronic games industry also showed substantial increases in registrations.

In terms of commercial registrations, the Riyadh region led the way in the artificial intelligence sector, with a total of 5,492 registrations, followed by the Makkah region with 1,789, the Eastern region with 939, Madinah with 254, and Asir with 115. Cloud-computing services saw similar growth, with the Riyadh region again leading with 1,446 registrations, followed by Makkah, the Eastern region, Madinah, and Qassim. The electronic games industry also experienced growth, with 336 registrations in the second quarter of 2024 compared to 260 in the same period in 2023.

The growth in these sectors is a positive sign for the Saudi economy, demonstrating the increasing focus on technology and innovation in various industries. The rise in registrations indicates a growing interest and investment in sectors such as artificial intelligence, cloud-computing services, and electronic games. This trend is likely to continue as more businesses recognize the importance of adapting to the digital landscape to stay competitive in the global market.

The Riyadh region’s dominance in commercial registrations across multiple sectors reflects its position as a major hub for business and technology in Saudi Arabia. As the capital city, Riyadh continues to attract investment and talent, driving growth in key sectors such as artificial intelligence and cloud-computing services. The region’s strategic location and infrastructure make it an ideal location for businesses looking to expand and innovate in the digital space.

The Ministry of Commerce’s Business Sector Bulletin serves as a valuable resource for tracking the economic growth and trends in different sectors across the Kingdom. By highlighting the most significant activities and registrations in promising industries, the bulletin provides valuable insights for businesses, investors, and policymakers. The data presented in the bulletin reflects the ongoing transformation and diversification of the Saudi economy, as the country seeks to reduce its dependency on oil and embrace new opportunities in emerging sectors.

Overall, the growth in logistics, artificial intelligence, cloud-computing services, and the electronic games industry is a positive indicator of the expanding digital landscape in Saudi Arabia. As businesses continue to invest in technology and innovation, the Kingdom is well-positioned to drive economic growth and become a leader in digital transformation. With the support of government initiatives and a growing interest in emerging sectors, Saudi Arabia is poised for further development and success in the digital economy.
