Doha, Qatar – Safari, a leading hypermarket group in Doha, has launched its annual Cake Festival promotion, offering a wide variety of festive baked goods. The promotion, which began on December 21st, aims to enhance celebrations for Christmas and New Year with an extensive selection of cakes and pastries. Customers can find these offerings at all Safari outlets across Doha.

The launch was marked by a cake-cutting ceremony attended by Safari Group Chairman Hamad Dhafer Al Ahbabi, Deputy Chairman and Managing Director Zainul Abideen, and General Manager Surendranath, alongside other members of the management team. The festival comes as Qatar prepares for a busy holiday season, with residents and visitors alike seeking seasonal treats and gifts.

Safari’s Cake Festival Offers Extensive Selection

Safari’s Bakery and Hot Food section is showcasing over 50 different types of cakes, catering to diverse tastes and preferences. This includes traditional favorites like Safari Rich Plum Cake, Dates and Fig Plum Cake, and Premium Plum Cake, alongside more contemporary options such as banana blueberry cake and fresh cream cakes. A specially matured plum cake, crafted using a traditional recipe, is also available.

Festive Specialties

The selection extends beyond standard cakes to include seasonal specialties. These include decorated Christmas cakes, Christmas Yule Log cake, Christmas cream cake, and even a gingerbread house. According to Safari representatives, all products are made in-house by expert bakers using high-quality ingredients to ensure consistent quality and freshness.

Additionally, Safari is providing a customized cake service for institutions and organizations. Customers can pre-book cakes in various designs to suit their specific requirements, with orders placed at any Safari location. This service is designed to accommodate larger events and corporate gatherings during the holiday period.

However, the Cake Festival isn’t the only promotion currently running at Safari. The hypermarket is also conducting its “Shop & Drive” mega promotion, offering customers the chance to win one of 30 Bestune cars. For every QR50 spent at any Safari outlet, shoppers receive an e-raffle coupon, entering them into the draw.

The “Shop & Drive” promotion will have multiple draws. Four Bestune cars will be awarded in each of the initial draws, with a final draw offering five cars as prizes. The first draw is scheduled for January 5, 2026, giving shoppers ample opportunity to participate. This promotion is a significant investment by Safari, aiming to attract customers and boost sales during the peak shopping season.

Qatar’s retail sector often sees increased promotional activity during the end-of-year holidays, as businesses compete for consumer spending. Safari’s combined cake and car giveaway promotions are a notable example of this trend. The hypermarket group has a long history of offering competitive pricing and diverse product ranges, contributing to its popularity among shoppers in Doha.

Looking ahead, the success of the “Shop & Drive” promotion will depend on continued consumer spending and participation in the raffle. The final draw on an unspecified date will determine the last winners of the Bestune cars. It remains to be seen how these promotions will impact Safari’s overall sales figures for the holiday season, but they are expected to draw significant foot traffic to its stores.

The availability of customized cakes and the wide variety of festive baked goods will likely continue to be a draw for customers throughout the New Year period. Monitoring customer feedback and sales data will be crucial for Safari to refine its offerings and plan future promotions.
