QTerminals is making strides towards greener operations through a new partnership with Zero Emission Services (ZES) at their Kramer Rotterdam facility. ZES will introduce chargeable containers with advanced battery packs for inland vessels, which will be recharged and exchanged using eco-friendly harbour cranes at the Rotterdam Container Terminal. This initiative is part of a larger effort to reduce carbon emissions and promote sustainable practices in the shipping industry.

Hamad Port, operated by QTerminals, plays a key role in connecting Qatar to global markets through its advanced shipping line network. The port offers direct and indirect shipping services to over 100 destinations worldwide, ensuring efficient transportation and logistics services for customers. This network of international shipping companies helps strengthen trade ties between Qatar and other countries, supporting economic growth and development.

Container Terminal 2 (CT2) at Hamad Port is a state-of-the-art facility with a stacking area of 176,000 square metres. Equipped with cutting-edge technology such as remote-operated ship-to-shore cranes, hybrid rubber-tyred gantries, and electric tractors, CT2 ensures smooth and efficient operations for handling cargo. These advanced tools not only improve productivity but also contribute to the overall sustainability of the port operations.

The collaboration between QTerminals, ZES, and the Port of Rotterdam Authority highlights the importance of innovation and collaboration in promoting environmentally friendly practices in the shipping industry. By introducing chargeable containers and building charging stations at key terminals, the partners are paving the way for a more sustainable future in maritime transportation. This initiative not only reduces carbon emissions but also sets a precedent for other companies to follow suit and adopt eco-friendly solutions.

As a leading player in the shipping and logistics sector, QTerminals is committed to environmental stewardship and sustainable development. By investing in green technologies and partnering with like-minded organizations, QTerminals is making a positive impact on the industry and setting new standards for responsible business practices. The company’s focus on efficiency, innovation, and sustainability positions it as a progressive leader in the maritime sector, driving positive change and driving towards a greener future.

Overall, the collaboration between QTerminals, ZES, and the Port of Rotterdam Authority represents a significant step towards greener operations in the shipping industry. By leveraging advanced technologies and eco-friendly solutions, the partners are not only reducing their carbon footprint but also setting a precedent for sustainable practices in maritime transportation. With a focus on innovation, efficiency, and environmental stewardship, QTerminals is leading the way towards a more sustainable and responsible future for the shipping industry.
