Qatar Museums (QM) is gearing up for the fall season by offering a diverse range of activities for people of all ages. In November, there will be engaging family programs, hands-on workshops, immersive camps, captivating storytelling sessions, and Family Day events for both kids and adults to enjoy. The M7 venue will be hosting creative workshops and training sessions in November to engage the public with the works of renowned American artist Ellsworth Kelly. These events are part of the upcoming Ellsworth Kelly at 100 Exhibition, which is set to open at M7 on 31 October 2024.

Educators are invited to attend exclusive training sessions at M7 to learn how to incorporate the Ellsworth Kelly at 100 exhibition into their lessons. Toolkits will be available for various subject matters, including Design and Technology, English Language, Art, Math, and Science. Additionally, there will be a Kids Workshop at M7 where children aged 8-12 can explore the relationship between form and space through Kelly’s works and create a mobile inspired by his iconic shapes and colors.

The Museum of Islamic Art (MIA) will also host a variety of activities, including storytelling sessions, Family Day events, workshops, and a photo walk, in conjunction with the exhibition In the Footsteps of Ara Güler: Exploring the Photographer’s Legacy. Families can enjoy activities such as a story time session featuring “Pirate Jamjoom,” a photo walk with Khalifa Al Obaidly, and a Family Day focused on Islamic art. Workshops such as The Art of Drawing Jewellery will also be available for those interested in exploring creative ideas inspired by prestigious archives.

Mathaf: Arab Museum of Modern Art will offer workshops designed to nurture creativity, including a workshop for creating unique clay pieces inspired by the vibrant blues of Chefchaouen. Participants will have the opportunity to explore the city’s rich color palette and artistic spirit while creating their own crafts. Additionally, there will be a fashion workshop for adults to explore design inspired by Gerome’s exhibition and create personalized mood boards reflecting their fashion vision.

Other venues, such as the 3-2-1 Olympic & Sports Museum and Liwan, will also be hosting special programs and workshops to promote physical activity, well-being, and creativity. The Run for Diabetes event aims to encourage physical activity and demonstrate to young participants that their condition does not limit their potential. Liwan will host the Souq al Haraj Urban Field Lab workshop, where participants will design public furniture to enhance the market’s community space, celebrating the craftsmanship of local makers.

As Qatar’s premier cultural institution, Qatar Museums is committed to enriching the nation’s cultural landscape by providing a wide range of engaging and diverse experiences for residents and visitors alike. Whether you’re interested in art, storytelling, fashion, physical activity, or community engagement, there is something for everyone to enjoy this fall season at Qatar Museums. Be sure to check out the various events and workshops taking place in November to make the most of your cultural experience in Qatar.
