The 2025 motorsport season concluded with a strong showing for Qatari drivers at the Dubai International Baja, the final round of both the FIA World Baja Championship and the FIA Middle East Baja Championship. Qatar’s consistent performance throughout the year culminated in the QMMF Team winning the 2025 FIA Middle East Baja Championship for Teams, marking a significant achievement for the nation’s rally program. Several individual Qatari racers also secured notable titles and placements in the fiercely competitive off-road event.

The Dubai International Baja, held from November 22-25, 2025, saw competitors navigate challenging desert terrain. This event served as the culmination of a season of intense racing across the Middle East, testing drivers’ skill and vehicle reliability. The results underscore Qatar’s growing prominence in international baja racing and off-road motorsport.

Qatar Dominates the 2025 FIA Middle East Baja Championship

The QMMF Team’s victory in the FIA Middle East Baja Championship for Teams reflects a strategic and consistent approach to the season. According to reports from the event, the team benefited from strong performances across multiple rounds, demonstrating both driver talent and effective logistical support. This team win is a testament to the investment Qatar has made in developing its motorsport infrastructure.

Individual Achievements Highlight Qatari Talent

Khalifa Al Attiyah secured the Challenger title and finished second overall in the championship standings, showcasing his potential as a rising star in the sport. Abdulaziz Al Kuwari followed closely behind, taking second place in the Challenger category. These results demonstrate the depth of talent within the Qatari rally program.

Abdullah Al Rabban enjoyed a particularly successful season, winning both the Stock and Masters championships. His dual victories highlight his versatility and skill across different vehicle classes. Meanwhile, Mohammad Al Attiyah finished the year second overall in the Middle East SSV Championship, adding to Qatar’s impressive haul of accolades.

Dubai Baja Results and Key Performances

The Dubai International Baja itself saw promising performances from Qatari drivers. Rising driver Mohammad Al Marri finished fifth in the SSV category, demonstrating the emerging talent within the Qatari ranks. Al Rabban secured second place in the Stock category, further solidifying his championship-winning season.

In the Challenger class, Rashed Al Muhannadi faced a setback with a retirement after holding second place on the opening day. However, Khalifa Al Attiyah and Abdulaziz Al Kuwari demonstrated resilience, recovering to finish fifth and sixth respectively. These results, while not victories in Dubai, contributed to their overall championship standings.

The increasing participation of Qatari drivers in international off-road racing events, such as the Dubai International Baja, is part of a broader strategy to elevate the country’s profile in motorsport. This initiative aligns with Qatar’s national vision to diversify its sporting landscape and promote athletic excellence. The country has invested heavily in facilities and training programs to support its athletes.

The FIA is expected to publish the final championship standings and a detailed report on the 2025 season in the coming weeks. Looking ahead, the focus will shift to preparations for the 2026 season, with teams and drivers analyzing their performance and identifying areas for improvement. The continued development of young Qatari talent, like Al Marri, will be a key factor in maintaining the nation’s competitive edge in desert rally events.

The future of the FIA Middle East Baja Championship remains subject to ongoing discussions regarding potential calendar changes and format adjustments. Stakeholders will likely evaluate the success of the 2025 season to inform decisions about the championship’s direction in the years to come.
