Doha, Qatar – Preparations are nearing completion for the FIFA Arab Cup Qatar 2025, slated to run from December 1st to 18th. Organizers announced over 700,000 tickets have been sold, signalling substantial regional excitement for the competition featuring 16 national teams. The tournament aims to showcase the growing football culture across the Arab world and serve as a crucial test event for Qatar’s continued hosting capabilities.

A press conference held today in Doha included key members of the Local Organising Committee (LOC), FIFA representatives, and officials from Qatar Tourism and the Ministry of Interior. They detailed the logistical arrangements and confirmed readiness to welcome fans from across the region and beyond to the 2025 edition of the Arab Cup.

FIFA Arab Cup 2025: Ticket Sales and Regional Interest

The robust ticket sales demonstrate the increasing popularity of the tournament. To date, 700,699 tickets have been purchased, with 210,209 coming from outside of Qatar, according to the LOC. Support for host nation Qatar, alongside Jordan and Saudi Arabia, is particularly strong, driving initial group stage sales.

Additionally, organizers reported a significant level of media accreditation requests with 3,861 applications received, of which 2,085 originate from outside Qatar. Fifteen regional and international broadcasters have secured studio space in Doha, and numerous other channels have obtained broadcast rights, ensuring widespread coverage of the FIFA Arab Cup Qatar 2025.

Logistical Preparations for Fans

Qatar is leveraging its well-developed infrastructure to facilitate a smooth experience for attendees. Notably, the Doha Metro will be free for all ticketholders on match days, capitalizing on the country’s compact layout. All six match venues—Al Bayt Stadium, Lusail Stadium, Ahmad Bin Ali Stadium, Education City Stadium, Khalifa International Stadium, and Stadium 974—are seamlessly connected by the metro network.

The opening match on December 1st will pit Qatar against Palestine at Al Bayt Stadium. Gates are scheduled to open at 2:30 PM local time, with the tournament opening ceremony commencing at 5:30 PM. The competition’s climax, the final match, will be held on December 18th at the Lusail Stadium, a venue already well-known for hosting the 2022 FIFA World Cup Final.

Beyond the Matches: Fan Experience and Tournament Initiatives

Qatar aims to provide a comprehensive entertainment experience beyond the football matches themselves. Fan zones will be established at all six venues, offering cultural activities and entertainment throughout the tournament. This aligns with Qatar’s broader strategy to promote tourism and its cultural identity alongside sporting events.

In an effort to engage fans, the LOC has launched several initiatives. These include the official tournament mascot, Juha, a prominent figure in Arab folklore, as well as the official soundtrack, featuring the songs ‘Zamani’ and ‘Makani’ produced by Katara Studios. A Daily Fantasy game is also available through the FIFA app, allowing fans to participate in a virtual managerial competition.

Tickets for the FIFA Arab Cup Qatar 2025 are available through the official website, with prices starting at QAR 25. “Follow My Team” ticket packages, providing access to all group stage matches for a selected nation, are also available for purchase.

All tickets will be delivered digitally and accessible seating options will be provided for disabled fans. Individuals requiring accessible seating are encouraged to submit requests via email to [email protected].

Looking ahead, organizers will focus on finalizing security arrangements and coordinating with various stakeholders to ensure a safe and enjoyable tournament for all. The success of the FIFA Arab Cup Qatar 2025 will be closely monitored as a key indicator of Qatar’s continued capacity to host major international sporting events and as a driver for football development across the Arab region. Further details regarding specific operational plans and contingency measures are expected in the coming weeks as the tournament draws closer.
