The Qatar Civil Aviation Authority (QCAA) and the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for Qatar to host the ICAO Facilitation Conference (FALC 2025) in the second quarter of next year. Minister of Transport H E Jassim Saif Ahmed Al Sulaiti attended the event where the MoU was signed by Mohammed Faleh Al Hajri and President of the ICAO Council H E Salvatore Sciacchitano. FALC 2025 will bring together stakeholders in civil aviation to foster collaboration, align with national and international protocols, and address critical matters related to air transportation facilitation.

The event will provide an opportunity for ministers and senior officials from civil aviation authorities worldwide to come together and achieve a consensus on global recommendations for air transportation facilitation. A ministerial declaration concerning civil aviation facilitation will be issued during the high-level segment of FALC 2025 to enhance aviation services and inform public policies. This declaration will also include recommendations for the upcoming 42nd Session of the ICAO, further contributing to the achievement of strategic objectives related to security and facilitation.

Qatar is actively enhancing its national facilitation procedures and processes by integrating the latest passenger identification technologies, improving airport facilities, and aligning systems with international standards in various facilitation domains. The Minister of Transport highlighted Qatar’s readiness to host the global event and emphasized the collaborative efforts with the ICAO to ensure successful outcomes and efficient implementation of facilitation measures in air transportation. The conference will feature fruitful discussions, workshops, and a showcase of the latest global technologies and air transportation facilitation systems at the accompanying exhibition.

Mohammed Faleh Al Hajri emphasized the importance of implementing international facilitation standards to ensure a secure and comfortable travel experience. Qatar’s aviation sector prioritizes enhancing policies and procedures and ongoing training initiatives to comply with ICAO regulations and benefit from international expertise. Hosting the conference will allow Qatar to share its experiences and contribute to sustainable development in the aviation industry. Through collaboration with the ICAO and other stakeholders, Qatar aims to further enhance its facilitation measures and continue its commitment to global aviation standards.
