Qatar and Azerbaijan hold talks on climate change

Anar Alakbarov, Assistant to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan and member of the Organising Committee of COP29, recently met with H E Bader bin Omar Al Dafa, Special Envoy of the Minister of Foreign Affairs for Climate Change and Sustainability. The meeting focused on strengthening cooperation ties between Azerbaijan and Qatar, particularly in the areas of climate change and sustainability. The two officials discussed preparations for the upcoming COP29 conference, which is set to take place in Baku, Azerbaijan in November.

During the meeting, Alakbarov and Al Dafa highlighted the importance of collaboration between their countries in addressing the challenges posed by climate change. They discussed ways to enhance cooperation in areas such as climate adaptation, mitigation, and sustainable development.
