The Primary Health Care Corporation (PHCC) in Doha, Qatar, has recently undergone a rigorous assessment by Accreditation Canada surveyors under the leadership of Dr. Mariam Abdulmalik, Managing Director. The assessment included site visits to all 31 Health Centers and the Headquarters to ensure standardization and consistency in delivering the highest level of care without compromising patient safety. The focus was on Quality, Patient Safety, and People-Centered Care across all sites, with thorough reviews of policies, procedures, and practices. PHCC has successfully retained its Diamond level accreditation for the third time with an overall compliance rate of 99.8% across all sites.

In recognition of their outstanding achievement, PHCC has been honoured with the first-ever People-Centered Care (PCC) Centre of Excellence award from Accreditation Canada. These accolades are a testament to the dedication and collaborative efforts of PHCC leaders, staff, patients, and partners. The organization firmly believes that better quality leads to better health outcomes and is dedicated to upholding this belief, showcasing a culture of quality, patient safety, and people-centered care. The comprehensive evaluation by Accreditation Canada surveyors included administrative tracers, clinical tracers, patient interviews, leadership and staff interviews, and reviews of various evidence such as projects, key performance indicators, improvement initiatives, personnel files, and corporate plans. This rigorous process ensured that PHCC adhered to the highest standards of care and patient safety across all sites. The organization’s commitment to excellence and continuous improvement has been recognized through their retention of Diamond level accreditation and the prestigious PCC Centre of Excellence award.
