As part of the road and infrastructure development project in Al Furoos, the Public Works Authority “Ashghal” in Doha, Qatar, has announced the temporary closure of a section of Hazem Al Themaid Street in both directions. The closure will be in effect from Thursday, July 4, 2024, until Saturday, July 20, 2024, to facilitate the completion of the final asphalt layer works for the street. This closure is part of Package 1 of the project, and it has been coordinated with the General Directorate of Traffic to minimize inconvenience to road users.

During the closure period, drivers heading to Barga Haleema Street from Hazem Al Themaid Street can take a detour by turning right onto Umm Shahrain Street and then left onto Imneefa Street. Conversely, those coming from Barga Haleema Street and intending to travel on Hazem Al Themaid Street can turn left onto Street 332 and utilize internal streets to reach their destinations. Ashghal will be installing directional signs to guide road users and ensure their safety during this temporary traffic change.

It is essential for all road users to adhere to the permitted speed limits and follow the directional signs provided by Ashghal during the closure period. By doing so, drivers can ensure their safety and the safety of others on the road. The temporary closure of Hazem Al Themaid Street is necessary to facilitate the final asphalt layer works and improve the road infrastructure in Al Furoos. Road users are urged to plan their routes accordingly and allow for extra travel time during the closure period.

The road and infrastructure development project in Al Furoos is part of Ashghal’s ongoing efforts to enhance the transportation network in Qatar. By improving road infrastructure, Ashghal aims to create a safer and more efficient traffic flow for residents and visitors alike. The temporary closure of Hazem Al Themaid Street is a crucial step in the completion of Package 1 of the project, and Ashghal is working closely with the General Directorate of Traffic to ensure minimal disruption to road users during this time.

As with any construction project, there may be some inconvenience during the closure period. However, the temporary closure of Hazem Al Themaid Street is necessary to facilitate the final asphalt layer works and ensure the long-term safety and functionality of the road. Road users are encouraged to follow the detour routes provided by Ashghal and exercise caution while navigating the affected area. By cooperating with authorities and following the designated traffic routes, drivers can help facilitate the completion of the road works and minimize delays for all road users.

In conclusion, the temporary closure of Hazem Al Themaid Street in both directions from the roundabout at its intersection with Street 2234 towards Barga Haleema Street is a necessary measure to complete the final asphalt layer works for the street in Al Furoos. Ashghal is committed to enhancing the road infrastructure in Qatar and ensuring the safety of road users during this construction period. All drivers are urged to follow the directional signs, adhere to speed limits, and plan their routes accordingly to minimize disruption and ensure a smooth traffic flow in the area.
