The Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI) branch in the North Al Batinah Governorate recently held a meeting in Sohar to discuss the plans of sectoral committees and their role in addressing challenges faced by commercial sectors in the region. The meeting, which was held under the auspices of Eng. Said Ali Al Abri, Chairman of the OCCI’s branch in North Al Batinah Governorate, focused on finding ways to meet the aspirations of the business community in the area.

During the meeting, preparations for events to be implemented in the last quarter of 2024 were discussed. Two business-related forums were highlighted, including the “Reconstruction Horizons Forum” which will center on mining industries, and the 6th GCC Businesswomen’s Forum. Additionally, the operation of trade missions during the last quarter of 2024 was approved as a means to increase the volume of trade exchange and investments in the region.

The meeting also discussed the importance of studying other countries’ experiences in sectors such as food security, industry, real estate development, and mining. It was agreed that organizing internal visits to OCCI branches would enhance cooperation and communication, as well as facilitate the exchange of experiences and successful practices. Common challenges facing the commercial sector were also addressed during the meeting.

Furthermore, requests for partnerships with various government establishments and private enterprises were approved during the meeting, with the common objective of better serving members of the public. This collaboration is aimed at enhancing the overall business environment in the North Al Batinah Governorate and addressing the needs of the local business community.

Overall, the OCCI branch in the North Al Batinah Governorate is taking proactive steps to support and empower commercial sectors in the region. By organizing events, trade missions, and partnerships, the chamber is working towards ensuring the prosperity and growth of businesses in the area. The focus on addressing challenges and finding solutions through collaboration and cooperation highlights the commitment of the OCCI to fostering a thriving business environment in the governorate.

Moving forward, the OCCI will continue to work closely with sectoral committees and other stakeholders to implement initiatives that benefit the business community. By creating opportunities for networking, knowledge-sharing, and partnership-building, the chamber aims to drive economic growth and development in the North Al Batinah Governorate. Businesses and entrepreneurs in the region can look forward to a supportive and dynamic environment that encourages innovation and success.
