The Embassy of Nepal in Muscat recently organized an event focused on Employment, Trade and Investment Promotion at Nepal House. The event aimed to provide detailed information about the launch of an e-portal for Institutional Demand Attestation for sponsors in Oman looking to recruit Nepali workers, as well as to explore trade opportunities between Nepal and Oman and promote investment opportunities in Nepal. The event was attended by over 65 guests, including businesspersons, country managers, HR executives, media representatives, and others.

During the event, Ambassador Dornath Aryal emphasized the Government of Nepal’s priorities to diversify Nepal’s trading partners and promote foreign investment in the country. He encouraged businessmen to consider expanding transactions with Nepali counterparts for better outreach. The Ambassador also highlighted the recent successful Nepal Investment Summit 2024 and the launch of the e-portal for Institutional Demand Attestation in Oman, explaining its benefits and easy processing without hassle. He discussed how other processes related to recruiting Nepali workers will gradually be made online to establish a long-term relationship between the Embassy and valued recruiters in Oman.

Nabin Jha, IT Officer from the Department of Consular Services, conducted a virtual presentation during the event to explain the e-portal that will be used for Company Registration and Demand Letter Attestation. He outlined the process for recruiting companies to register their firms on the portal, have it approved by the embassy, and then create demand for recruiting Nepali workers. Bishesh Kumar Sah, Second Secretary at the Embassy, further explained that the e-portal will replace manual work with a digital platform for recruiting Nepali workers, and he addressed questions raised by participants during the interaction. Company registration for recruiters in Oman began on July 3, 2024, and all institutional demands will be attested only through the e-portal starting July 16, 2024.

Participants at the event were provided with printed manuals on demand attestation and documents related to Nepal’s trade and investment opportunities. Bishesh Kumar Sah conducted the programme, ensuring that guests left the event with a better understanding of the new e-portal and its potential benefits for recruiting Nepali workers in Oman. The event served as a platform to strengthen relations between Nepal and Oman, encouraging increased trade, investment, and collaboration between the two countries.
