NCSA introduces Cybersecurity Summer Bootcamp

The National Cyber Security Agency (NCSA) in Doha, Qatar has recently announced the launch of the Cybersecurity Summer Bootcamp 2024. This initiative is set to take place from July 21 to August 15 with the goal of raising awareness among young individuals aged 13 to 17 on cybersecurity and digital safety. The bootcamp is designed to empower participants to safely and effectively navigate the internet and modern technology. It is part of NCSA’s broader efforts to enhance cyber capabilities and promote social responsibility among the youth.

Up to 200 students will be able to participate in the camp, which will run for 20 days with daily sessions lasting 5 hours each. The NCSA will provide a combination of theoretical and practical training in both Arabic and English languages. The camp’s activities will include theoretical lectures, intensive practical exercises, visual presentations, and comprehensive training packages. Additionally, participants will receive printed brochures, engage in interactive games and information competitions, and have access to a cybersecurity consulting corner. Hands-on activities such as cybersecurity penetration testing, an open entertainment day, discussions of graduation projects, and field visits will also be included in the program. Graduates will receive an accredited certificate recognizing their qualifications upon completion.

In order to be admitted to the Cybersecurity Summer Bootcamp 2024, students must be enrolled in a public or private school in Qatar, pass a basic test on cybersecurity principles, and commit fully to participating in all camp activities. The program is aimed at equipping young individuals with the necessary knowledge and skills to protect themselves online and navigate the digital world securely. By fostering a culture of cybersecurity awareness and social responsibility, the NCSA hopes to contribute to a safer and more secure online environment for all individuals in Qatar.
