A Grand Celebration of Omani National Day at PSM

Pakistan School Muscat (PSM) hosted a memorable event to celebrate the 53rd National Day of Oman, demonstrating the strong bond between Pakistan and Oman. The ceremony was a resounding success, attended by a host of dignitaries and members of the community. The event highlighted the school’s commitment to fostering cultural understanding and appreciation among its students.

Distinguished Guests and Official Recognition

The celebration was graced by the presence of H.E. Sheikh Najeeb bin Saleh Mohammed Al Zadjali, a respected Member of the Majlis Al Shura, who served as the Chief Guest. Dr. Saif Al Busaidi, Advisor to the Ministry of Labour, Oman, added further prestige as the Guest of Honour. Mr. Ameer Hamza, Chairman of the Board of Directors, was also present, alongside representatives from the Ministry of Education, Mr. Ishrat Hussain Bhatti, Commercial Attaché from the Embassy of Pakistan, and Mr. Louis, Head of Academics at Qurum International School. Dr. Said Saleem Al-Kitani, Associate Dean for Community Engagement at MCBS, and embassy officials, board members, principals, faculty, students, and parents completed the esteemed gathering.

Recognizing Student Achievements

PSM took the opportunity to acknowledge the exceptional achievements of its students. Students from the Computer Department who had excelled in an IT event organized by Mazoon College were presented with certificates by representatives from the Ministry of Education. This recognition underscored the school’s dedication to promoting excellence in STEM fields.

Additionally, students who participated in the prestigious Model United Nations (MUN) received their MUN certificates from the Chief Guest. Their involvement in MUN demonstrates PSM’s commitment to developing students’ critical thinking, diplomacy, and global awareness. The school consistently encourages participation in extracurricular activities to broaden students’ horizons.

A Showcase of Omani Culture and Talent

The heart of the celebration was a captivating Fancy Dress Show, where PSM students beautifully showcased traditional Omani attire. The vibrant costumes and enthusiastic presentations were warmly received by the audience, offering a glimpse into the Sultanate’s rich cultural heritage. The attention to detail and the pride with which the students presented their outfits were truly commendable.

The cultural program continued with moving performances of Omani national songs and engaging tableaux. These performances were carefully prepared and delivered with passion, effectively conveying the true spirit of the National Day of Oman. The students’ dedication to learning and performing these cultural expressions was a highlight of the event.

Honoring Artistic Expression

The school also recognized artistic talent through an Art Competition. The winners were presented with certificates by Dr. Saif Al Busaidi, the Guest of Honour, celebrating their creativity and skill. This initiative highlights PSM’s commitment to nurturing well-rounded individuals who excel in both academic and artistic pursuits.

Expressions of Gratitude and Hope for the Future

As a token of appreciation, mementos were presented to the esteemed guests, acknowledging their support and presence at the event. H.E. Sheikh Najeeb bin Saleh Mohammed Al Zadjali, the Chief Guest, commended the school management for organizing such a memorable and well-executed celebration. He emphasized the importance of such events in strengthening the ties between Pakistan and Oman.

The program culminated in a joyous cake-cutting ceremony, symbolizing unity and shared celebration. Heartfelt wishes were extended for the continued progress and prosperity of Oman, reflecting the deep respect and affection held by the PSM community for the Sultanate. The National Day of Oman celebration at PSM served as a powerful reminder of the importance of cultural exchange and international friendship.

The success of this event underscores Pakistan School Muscat’s dedication to providing a holistic education that values cultural understanding and celebrates national pride. It’s a testament to the hard work of the faculty, staff, and students, and the strong support of the community.
