The Muharraq Municipality is looking to revitalize the children’s play area at the Arad Fort Corniche through an internal tender inviting suppliers to participate. The project, spanning over 46,647 square meters, aims to enhance the recreational experience for visitors by introducing new play equipment, refurbishing shade structures, and adding a small boat dock for boating activities. The project also includes maintaining the pump room and replacing damaged lighting for safety and visibility, especially during the evening hours.

The Arad Fort Corniche project, launched in March 2005, offers a wide range of recreational and sports facilities such as a walking track, a fitness area with exercise equipment, and a designated children’s play area. It also features a water fountain, public service buildings, and extensive green spaces, creating a vibrant and welcoming environment for visitors. The total project area is 49,788 square meters with a total cost of 2.2 million Bahraini dinars, including a parking area with 324 spaces and a built-up area of 39,883 square meters.

The walking track at the Arad Fort Corniche project measures 785 meters in length and 10 meters in width, with a paved area of 17,636 square meters. The green space covers 16,244 square meters, and the project uses an artesian well for irrigation of the green spaces and palm trees, requiring 1815 cubic meters of water daily. A site visit for interested suppliers is scheduled for June 30th, 2024, at 9:00 AM at the Arad Fort Corniche.

The renovation of the children’s play area is set to provide a safer and more enjoyable environment for children and enhance the overall recreational experience for visitors. By introducing new play equipment, refurbishing existing structures, adding a boat dock, and improving lighting and safety measures, the Muharraq Municipality aims to create a space that caters to the needs of families and individuals seeking recreational activities in a well-maintained and attractive location.

The project specifications aim to transform the Arad Fort Corniche into a destination that offers a mix of sports, leisure, and green spaces for the community to enjoy. With an emphasis on creating a welcoming environment for visitors of all ages, the project includes facilities such as a fitness area, public service buildings, and extensive green spaces to provide a holistic and inclusive recreational experience.

Overall, the rehabilitation of the children’s play area at the Arad Fort Corniche represents a step towards creating a more vibrant and engaging public space that caters to the diverse recreational needs of the community. By investing in the revitalization of the play area and incorporating new features and amenities, the Muharraq Municipality is able to offer a space that promotes physical activity, social interaction, and relaxation in a safe and well-maintained environment.
