Renewing driving licences and vehicle registrations in Dubai is now easier with the Roads and Transport Authority’s (RTA) new mobile application. Samsung users can conveniently add their vehicle and licence details to their Samsung Wallet through the RTA app. The release of a new version of the RTA app in May has simplified access to RTA services, eliminating the need for multiple apps and providing a central platform for managing transportation-related documents. The app features a personalized dashboard, consolidating services into one screen for seamless navigation and making it easier for users to renew vehicle and driving licences, as well as buy parking tickets.

Meera Al Shaikh, director of Smart Services at RTA, emphasized the high standards of security and privacy maintained for all user data, demonstrating the commitment of RTA and Samsung to safeguarding user trust. The integration of services through smartphones aims to revolutionize urban mobility and move towards a digital future, aligning with Dubai’s vision of becoming the smartest city in the world. Fadi Abu Shamat, head of Mobile Experience Division at Samsung Gulf Electronics, highlighted the robust military-grade Knox security suite that comes with the integration to prioritize security and safeguard consumer data privacy.

In October last year, RTA introduced the digital nolPay feature for Samsung users, allowing them to conveniently pay for transport using their smartphones or smartwatches on the Dubai Metro or any mode of public transportation in Dubai. The digital Nol card can also be used at various retail shops, groceries, public parks, museums, and more. This advancement in digital services aims to enhance the overall transportation experience for users and align with the smart city goals of Dubai. The seamless integration of services through the RTA app and Samsung devices offers a convenient and secure way for users to manage their transportation-related documents and payments on-the-go.

Overall, the collaboration between RTA and Samsung in providing digital solutions for transportation services signifies a step towards a more efficient and technology-driven future in Dubai. The user-friendly interface and secure platform offered through the RTA app cater to the convenience and safety needs of motorists in renewing their licences and registrations. With a focus on security and privacy, the integration of services through smartphones aims to enhance the overall user experience and contribute to Dubai’s vision of becoming a smart city. Embracing digital advancements in transportation services is essential for meeting the growing needs of a modern and tech-savvy population.
