Memorandum of Understanding Signed Between WHO Office and Al Mudhaibi Healthy City

The Al Mudhaibi Healthy City initiative aims to promote health and well-being within the community by focusing on various health aspects such as physical activity, safety, environment, and social connections. The memorandum of understanding signed with the World Health Organization’s Office in Oman will further strengthen the implementation of this program and ensure that it is aligned with international health standards and guidelines.

The signing of this MoU is a significant milestone in the efforts to improve the overall health and quality of life of residents in Al Mudhaibi. By collaborating with the WHO, the Healthy City initiative will have access to resources, expertise, and support to effectively address health challenges and implement evidence-based interventions. This partnership will also enhance the capacity of local authorities and stakeholders to address health inequalities and improve health outcomes in the community.

The WHO’s Healthy Cities programme focuses on creating supportive environments and policies that promote health and well-being. By working closely with local governments, organizations, and communities, this program aims to address the social determinants of health and create sustainable solutions to health challenges. Through this partnership, Al Mudhaibi Healthy City will be able to implement best practices and adopt innovative approaches to improve health outcomes and create a healthier living environment for its residents.

The MoU signing ceremony was attended by senior officials from the Ministry of Health, Al Mudhaibi Healthy City, and the WHO Office in Oman. During the event, both parties reiterated their commitment to working together towards achieving the goals of the Healthy Cities programme and improving the health and well-being of residents in Al Mudhaibi. The collaboration between the WHO and Al Mudhaibi Healthy City is expected to drive positive changes and bring about lasting improvements in the community’s health status and quality of life.

In addition to focusing on physical health, the Al Mudhaibi Healthy City initiative also emphasizes the importance of mental health and emotional well-being. By addressing mental health issues and providing support services to those in need, the program aims to create a more inclusive and supportive community environment. Through this collaboration with the WHO, the Healthy City initiative will be able to enhance its mental health programs and services, in line with international standards and guidelines.
