MCIT announces establishment of Digital Skills Working Group within government institutions

The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology in Doha has established the Digital Skills Working Group to align efforts with the Digital Agenda 2030 and the Third National Development Strategy. The main objectives of this working group include identifying training needs, developing innovative training programs, and creating a supportive environment for learning and professional development in the digital field.

The working group recently met with the Ministry of Education and Higher Education as well as the Ministry of Labour to discuss the organizational mechanisms for implementing future activities. Quarterly meetings will be held to coordinate efforts, identify opportunities, and improve ongoing initiatives related to digital skills. Key focus areas include digital skills programs for youth, workforce skill development, and establishing comprehensive digital skills frameworks.

By fostering collaboration, sharing actionable insights, and addressing challenges, the Digital Skills Working Group aims to strengthen Qatar’s digital skills ecosystem and contribute to building an advanced, future-ready digital society. This initiative is a cornerstone of Qatar’s strategic efforts to accelerate digital transformation and establish an integrated ecosystem that promotes innovation, collaboration, and growth across all sectors.

Furthermore, the working group will play a vital role in supporting the goals of the Digital Agenda 2030 and the Third National Development Strategy. By conducting in-depth studies, developing innovative training programs, and unifying efforts among stakeholders, the group will help drive Qatar’s digital skills development at the national level.

Through the collaboration with the Ministry of Education and Higher Education and the Ministry of Labour, the Digital Skills Working Group is set to define organizational mechanisms for implementing future activities. These activities will be aligned with strategic goals for digital skills development and will contribute to the overall enhancement of Qatar’s digital skills ecosystem.

In conclusion, the establishment of the Digital Skills Working Group is a key step towards accelerating Qatar’s digital transformation and establishing a future-ready digital society. By focusing on youth programs, workforce skill development, and comprehensive digital skills frameworks, the group aims to drive innovation, collaboration, and growth across all sectors in Qatar.
